The MC1496BDG is a balanced modulator and demodulator in 14 pin SOIC package. It is designed for use where the output voltage is a product of an input voltage (signal) and a switching function (carrier). Typical applications include suppressed carrier and amplitude modulation, synchronous detection, FM detection, phase detection and chopper application.
- Excellent carrier suppression of -65dB typical at 0.5MHz and -50dB typical at 10MHz
- Adjustable gain and signal handling
- Balanced inputs and outputs
- High common mode rejection of -85dB
- Contains 8 active transistors
- Operating ambient temperature range from -40°C to +125°C
- Carrier feedthrough 40µVrms (VC = 60mVrms sine wave and offset adjusted to zero, fC = 1KHz)
- Carrier suppression of 65dB at fC = 500KHz, 60mVrms sine wave
- Power supply current of 2mA
- Signal gain of 3.5V/V (VS = 100mVrms, f = 1KHz, VC = 0.5Vdc)
