Product Overview
LTC®2876 is a PROFIBUS RS485 transceiver designed to meet the test specifications for PROFIBUS-DP primary and PROFIBUS-DP secondary, fully compatible with IEC 61158-2, type 3: medium attachment unit (MAU). With operation up to 20Mbps, this supports all PROFIBUS data rates up to 12Mbps. This is exceptionally robust, tolerating ±60V faults on the bus pins and protected to ±52kV ESD. This device is suitable for harsh environments or where 24V power might be inadvertently connected. Extended ±25V input common mode range and full failsafe operation improve data communication reliability in noisy systems. Typical applications are PROFIBUS-DP, industrial communication networks, RS485 and RS422 systems, 3V low voltage differential signalling.

- 5V supply can operate down to 3V for low power, low swing applications

- Primary power supply range from 4.5 to 5.5V (PROFIBUS, RS485, TA=25°C. VCC=VL=5V)
- Supply current in shutdown mode is 5µA (DE=0V, RE=VCC, DI=VCC)
- 8-lead plastic MSOP package
- Temperature rating range from -40°C to 125°C
