MAX4378FAUD+

The MAX4378FAUD+ is a quad precision high side current sense amplifier with internal gain of 50V/V in 14 pin TSSOP package. This device has buffered voltage output that eliminates the need for gain setting resistors. It is ideal for applications where current monitoring is critical. The high side current monitoring is useful in battery powered systems because it does not interfere with ground path of battery charger. The input common mode range of 0 to 28V is independent of supply voltage and ensures that current sense feedback remains viable even when connected to a battery pack in deep discharge. The full scale current reading can be set by choosing appropriate voltage gain and external sense resistor. This capability offers high level of integration and flexibility resulting in a simple and compact current sense solution. The MAX4378 is used in current-limited power supplies, fuel gauges in PC, general system/board level current monitoring and power amplifier bias control loops.

• Bandwidth of 1.7MHz (VSENSE = 100mV, gain = +50V/V) and slew rate of 10V/μs
• High accuracy 2V to 28V common mode range, functionally down to 0V and independent of supply voltage
• CMRR of 90dB and PSRR of 90dB
• Input bias current of 120μA at VRS+ ≤ 2V and full scale sense voltage of 150mV
