Product Overview
ST8024CDR is a smartcard interface. It is a complete low-cost analogue interface for asynchronous 3V and 5V smart cards. It can be placed between the card and the microcontroller with a few external components to perform all supply protection and control functions. It is a direct replacement of ST8004. It is used in applications such as smart card readers for set-top-box, IC card readers for banking, identification, and pay TV.
- Designed to be compatible with the NDS conditional access system, IC card interface
- 3V or 5V supply for the IC (VDD and GND), thermal and short-circuit protection on all card contacts
- Controls rise and fall times, filtered overload detection at approximately 120mA
- Enhanced ESD protection on card side (<gt/> 6kV), 26MHz integrated crystal oscillator
- Built-in debounce on card presence contacts, one multiplexed status signal off
- Supply current is 1.2mA maximum at (card inactive, VDD = 3.3V, VDDP = 5V)
- Supply voltage range from 2.7V to 6.5V, total power dissipation is 0.56W maximum
- Clock frequency range from 2.2MHz to 3.2MHz
- Slew rate is 0.15V/µs typical at (VDD = 3.3V, VDDP = 5V, fXTAL = 10MHz)
- Operating temperature range from -25°C to 85°C, SO-28 package
