Product Overview
The MAX3222CAP+T is a low power true RS232 transceiver in 20 pin SSOP package. This transceiver has low dropout transmitter output stage enabling true RS232 performance from 3V to 5.5V supply with dual charge pump. The device requires only four small 0.1μF external charge pump capacitors. The MAX3222 device operates at data rate of 235Kbps and maintains RS232 output levels. The device has 1μA shutdown mode that reduces power consumption and extends battery life in portable systems. Its two receivers remain active in shutdown mode, allowing external devices such as modems to be monitored using only 1μA supply current. The MAX3222 is pin, package and functionally compatible with industry standard MAX242 device.
