MAX16828ASA+

The MAX16828ASA+ is a high voltage 200mA adjustable linear high brightness LED driver with PWM dimming in 8 pin NSOIC package. This current regulator operates from a 6.5V to 40V input voltage range and delivers up to 200mA to high brightness LED (HB LED) loads. The output current is adjusted by using an external current sense resistor in series with the LEDs. The MAX16828's dimming input allows wide range pulsed PWM operation. An on-board pass element minimizes external components while providing ±3.5% output current accuracy. Typical applications include emergency vehicle warning lights, signage and indicators, ambient and architectural lighting, LED bulbs and display backlighting.

• Integrated pass element with low dropout voltage (0.4V typ)
• 5V regulated output with 4mA source capability
• Thermal shutdown, output short circuit protection
• Ground current of 1mA at ILOAD = 200mA, shutdown supply current of 35µA at VEN ≤ 0.6V
• ±3.5% output current accuracy (35mA <lt/> IOUT <lt/> 200mA), 300mA short circuit current (VOUT=0V, VIN=12V)
• Dropout voltage of 0.27V at IOUT = 200mA (current pulsed), 6.5V <lt/> VIN <lt/> 12V
• Operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C
