MA782 detects absolute angular position of a permanent magnet such as diametrically magnetized cylinder on a rotating shaft. The timing can be controlled by an on-chip clock or via an external controller. Flags can detect a definable amount of angle change. The device supports a wide range of magnetic field strengths and spatial configurations. The MA782 features magnetic field strength detection with configurable thresholds to sense the magnet position relative to the sensor for certain functions (e.g. sensing axial movements or for diagnostics). On-chip non-volatile memory (NVM) stores configuration parameters including reference zero angle position, power cycling parameters, filter window affecting output resolution and magnetic field detection thresholds. It is available in QFN-14 (2mmx2mm) package. Applications include portable devices, tablet foldable displays, mobile flip phones, E-Bike shifters, throttle control, smart door locks and low power rotary HMI dials or pushbuttons.
